Medeco’s Nexgen XT Delivers New Level of Security For Coin Laundry Industry

Working with Mac-Gray Corporation, the leading innovator in the laundry facilities management industry, Medeco has introduced a security solution that delivers unprecedented, dual-security for washer and dryer coin boxes and laundry card add-value stations. The product virtually eliminates the risk associated with unauthorized use of keys.

“Mac-Gray’s understanding of technology and its application to the laundry business made them the logical choice to work with on the introduction of Nexgen XT. Their insight and willingness to collaborate with us has been invaluable and has helped us bring a truly innovative product to the laundry industry,” said Mark Imhof, Director of Engineered Security Solutions for Medeco High Security Locks.

The Nexgen XT system enables a laundry facilities management company to provide an unprecedented level of security for property owners and managers. The system eliminates the use of traditional keys, through the installation of electronic lock cylinders used in conjunction with a single, programmable “collector’s key” with access codes for each associated lock. The collector’s key will only work at specified times and will record up to 5,000 time and date stamped events.

An important feature of the new system is the ability of a laundry facilities management company to utilize Medeco’s Nexgen XT Web Manager® software to centrally manage its coin and cash collection routes on a secure website, enabling complete control of all collectors’ keys and the ability to audit, control and report on all activity associated with all the locks in every managed laundry room. Mac-Gray will utilize the software in conjunction with its proprietary LaundryView® monitoring system to provide its clients with the ability to remotely audit all collections.

“Mac-Gray is focused on re-inventing the central laundry room with innovative products for the people using our machines, as well as for our clients who own and manage the properties we service. We were eager to work with Medeco on launching the Nexgen XT technology because it will enable us to provide our clients with an unparalleled level of security. Combined with LaundryView®, which delivers unmatched transparency on collections, commission payments, and service history, we can now offer them total peace of mind” said Phil Emma, Executive Vice President for Mac-Gray.
